What exactly does it mean when a plastic surgeon is "board certified"? I just read on TMZ.com that Dr. Rey of "Dr.90210" is not board certified, yet here he is on this show being profiled as if he is the best in the business. Quite confusing. This means someone could be butchered by Dr. Rey and then later blamed for not checking him out. One naturally assumes that because he is on a show, he must be at the top of his game.

How do I find out if a surgeon has been sued or has complaints or other issues? I am having two procedures done out of state, one vision-related and the other functional ethnic rhinoplasty. I have researched the two doctors thoroughly. During my research, I found out about a woman who had an awful experience with liposuction with a board-certified plastic surgeon with the same last name as my nose guy. It's not the same person, but it troubled me that such a bad doctor was board certified and that he'd be practicing despite prior major complications. It's not so much the complications as it is the way he handled them which was basically avoidance. I accept the normal risks that go with surgical procedures, but I also expect a medical professional to handle these issues appropriately, not brush them aside and then avoid me. If the woman didn't go to the ER, she could have died from her infection! It just boggles my mind. How do I find out about all these things with the ophthalmologist and plastic surgeon that I'm seeing?

How much should nose surgery (rhinoplasty) cost? I went to see a plastic surgeon/ENT and surgery would cost $4,875 plus the anesthesia surgical center price of $2,390 for a total cost of $7,265. Just wondering if this is too high or lower. The doctor is board certified ENT and board certified plastic surgeon, and the site of course uses a board certified anesthesiologist. It would help me out considering last time I asked this question I got an answer from a 14 yr old. I'm really only looking for answers from adults. I'm 19 now. It will be one procedure that I've wanted done for the past 7 years. It would be noticeable only to myself and will be done by a board certified surgeon. I've really looked into this. What do you think of me not telling my family? It's something that I'd like to keep as a personal decision. I don't want to feel guilty or like I've made a bad choice by telling my family. If they were openminded, I would let them know- but they're not, and their opinions will hurt me, considering the fact that I'll be changing my body. Hi, like 2 months ago I was watching Tyra Banks show, talking about plastic surgery and its consecuences, the show focus mostly in a case where a lady was going to have a lipossucion in TJ, everybody (including Tyra), where like crazy trying to prevent that from happening.. & I wondered why is that?.. Personally I have had 2 plastic s. in TJ, and those ended up Great! (Nose job, breats aug. ) with Dr. Buenrostro,.. I have also had laser surgery in my eyes,, with one of the most recognized Drs. in Latin America (his procedures are actually being used in USA, because he patented some of those) Dr. Arturo Chayet, look at their web pages.. youll see! needless to say that I saved A LOT of money, and not because they are bad Drs.but because in Mx. everything is so much cheaper, (economic's stuff) ..I believe the most important thing here is to do our homework and investigate before making a generalized assumption. after all good Certified Doctors not only exist in the US, So what do u think?

Can you sue a plastic surgeon after a bad Rhinoplasty? I had nose surgery close to 11 months ago and it came out uneven. Its not very obvious at first but you can still tell. I have had people tell me that my left side looks wide. I denied this to myself hoping that it will go away but it hasnt. When I touch it I feel a bony protusion there. The surgeon is board certified and overall a good one. I told him about it and he says it will go away meanwhile i went to another surgeon for advice and he says it wont. He says all the swelling is down. I left my doctors office agreeing to come back in 5 mos but i know it wont go away. I feel that the doctor should take blame or be responsible and offer me methods towards this. And the funny thing is that i had to go up personally to make a follow up appointment bcause they would deny me one on the phone. Does any one know what to do? like can i sue him? or does he have to offer revision surgery for free? please any answers?? thanks

Need more info/feedback on a plastic surgeon? I'm having surgery later this year to correct a deviated septum, remove polyps from my nose and sinuses and also cosmetically reduce the size of my nose. I've met with my surgeon twice and checked his references online. He's board certified and has all the proper academic credentials. He also showed me a before and after photo of one of his other patients who had similar surgery. But I feel like I need to do more research or get some more info before I go under the knife with this guy. Any advice/suggestions on what more to ask or look for? LOL, thanks for the compliment (pixiechix), but this IS a medically necessary operation. When you have buildup like this in your nose and sinuses, you have allergy-like symptoms 24/7. It's a drag. And the cosmetic part is something that I've wanted for quite awhile.

I Have A Facial Mole I Want Removed? Advice? Hi. I had a congenital mole removed by a "shaving technique" for a biopsy a couple years ago. The doctore didn't shave deep enough (thank goodness) and it pretty much reappeared, but it isn't raised. Since the mole is reoccuring, most insurances will pay for it. Also, It is about the size of a dime. First, I have always wanted it removed and i want to find a good Plastic Surgeon to remove it. Second, Does anyone know anyone in Georgia or Florida that is good with these procedures? Last question, Can anyone give me advice about different procedures? I do not want to have a scare. P.S.
