Has anyone ever travelled abroad to get cheaper plastic surgery?

Hi, I’m writing a feature on plastic surgery tourism, in other words, people who have shopped around for plastic surgery and decided to go abroad for the procedure for whatever reason (price, recommendation, quicker service, better confidentiality etc). If you have, it would be great if you could contact me. If you know someone who has, could you get them to message me? It’s just a general item about this topic so I could change names, etc. Also, I’d like to hear from anyone who sets up these kinds of trips or any surgeons involved – a long shot but you don’t ask you don’t get!

i saw a news special about a woman who went to Mexico to get cheap breast implants and it turned out really bad for her. Her nipples FELL off. That sucks. I don't really remember where I saw it but it was probably on Dateline or something a couple years back. Good Luck with your feature!

I am a plastic surgeon in Houston and could show you some photos of botched plastic surgery from south and central america that would make you cringe. I am currently working on a lady who went in for a atummy tuck procedure, only to energe horribly disfigured- including the fact that they forgot to give her a belly button! Long story short, there are no laws or regulations in most of the world that keeps nonqualified people from doing anything they want to you. Beware

word of advice. DONT come to Europe. I live here ( I am AMERICAN) but the hospitals here are nothing like back home. Awful, more people I have met have had infections, and wrongful practices. I wont even get a tattoo here because I'm afraid of the standards. GOD BLESS AMERICA and our laws
Going for cheaper plastic surgery is the dumbest thing anyone could ever do. Traveling to a different country! That is dangerous. Hasn't anyone heard about all of those horror stories about women being deformed because they wanted to get it done cheaply?
