- it's thier choice to do it or not
- Bottom line....ABSOLUTELY not...the risks are all too great....the only acceptable reason for a minor to have plastic surgery is if it is completely necessary due to birthdefects, horrific scars, etc.
- ugh....i think if it is NEEDED then its ok to get it but girls that get boob jobs for graduation presents and nose jobs its sad and it shows what kinda society we live in today...i personally wouldnt let my daughter get plastic surgery that young....
- i think people under 18 shouldn't get a plastic surgery they shouldn't be allowed i guess we r the way we r
- I dont believe that people under the age of 18 should be aloud because of many being under the age of 18 ur dont understand what all can happen not only short term effects but for the rest of your life you could be mutilated by the surgery or u could possibly lose ur life. Plastic Surgery doesnt always mean ur going to come out looking smokin hott, u could do the opposite and I just bleive that childern arent 100% sure of what they would expect. Also you body features keep changing as u get older so just because you dont have the ass or boobs now doesnt mean you arent going to get them at 20 +. trust me change hits when u arent looking.
- NO! I don't feel that it is safe since growing doesn't stop until your about 20. And kids seem to never be comfortable with themselves (their bodies), that kind of self acceptance and self love usually comes later in life. I think a Doctor needs to be able to establish that the person is done growing and then it would be OK. I believe in plastic reconstructive stuff if a kid has been marred by a horrible accident or something but not to alter an already "normal" appearance.
- NO, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A CAR ACCIDENT OR A MAJOR DEFECT FROM BIRTH THAT WOULD HELP LIVE A MORE FUNCTIONAL LIFE . THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH FOCUS ON ONES LOOKS ANY MORE. IF PEOPLE WOULD ONLY FOCUS A LITTLE MORE ON THE INSIDE THE WORLD WOULD BE A LOT BETTER PLACE TO LIVE WITH EACH OTHER AS NEIGHBORS.
- they often get nose jobs or have it done to prevent facial scaring.
- I work with a plastic surgeon, and occasionally, we do under 18s. Those cases are almost always to correct a deformity, but insurance frequently will not cover those procedures. We may have done a few rhinoplasties in 16-17 yr olds, too. Sometimes, such surgery can be so life changing that it really is worthwhile. I've also done "ear pinnings" (otoplasty) in little kids with comically sticky-out ears. Surgery is a decision that a minor child must make with his/her parents. Unless it's YOU or your child, it really isn't any concern of yours.
