Difference between American Board of Surgery vs. American Board of Plastic Surgery?

what is the difference between being certified by the American Board of Surgery vs. the American Board of Plastic Surgery? If a surgeon is only certified by the American Board of Surgery does it mean that they are not as qualified to perform surgery?

1. If they are certified by the American Board of Surgery, they specialise in general surgery and not necessarily plastic surgery. It doesn't mean they are not qualified or experienced to perform plastic surgery, it depends on the individual doctor. HTH.
