What do you think about plastic surgery to fix defects?
Does your opinion of plastic surgery change depending on how bad off the person is who wants to get it done?
Public Comments
- personal choice
- I can see where people are coming from, it depends on how far we take it as a society
- don't get it. do you know the sidifexs . if you think u look bad use makup
- If its for vanity only reasons, then I'm not for it.
- I think that if it will make the person more confident, defect or no, then they should go for it. If something increases the quality of your life it is a good thing.
- best discoveries of the century
- if it affects your health get it done if not dont
- If you can afford it and want to do it then do it. Just always keep Michael Jackson in mind and don't go too far!
- yes, because there's plastic surgery to fix problems (people who appear "abnormal") and then there's cosmetic plastic surgery, which is people who want to look different.
- I had my nose fixed, and I've been very happy, cuz U cant change or hide a potato nose
- Yea I think that if you think that you need it then you should get it.
- I never liked my nose and had plastic surgery done at the age of 41 (January 2006) and I would highly recommend it.It boosted my ego and made a nice change to my general appearance.
- its your face/body...for that matter its your money. its not my place to tell others what they can and cannot do, to their own body.
- If it is reconstructive surgery, it's fine. For example, someone loses 100lbs and gets extra skin removed. Someone breaks their nose and it is affecting their breathing, so they get a nose job. Things like that. Plastic surgery purly for vanity reasons is stupid and an unnecessary risk. For example, boob jobs, face lifts, lip enhancement, etc.
- Plastic surgury to fix defects sound like it would be a good idea. Using plastic surgury to restore in any situation would be a good idea. Just as long as you're not changing the parts of you that don't need it because you think you should be prettier (with the exception of the reason stated above)
- It dous NOT matter what other people think about how someone else looks. What matters is the person thinking about getting plastic surgery. Is that person insucure about themselves? or is that the person just hasn't found the right person to be with that doesn't care about a persons looks? Plastic surgery only needs to be done on those in emergency situations like skin graphing or bone graphing to help correct a medical problem.
- It is good to make yourself look good.
- Depends on what the defect is, and how you define "defect". If it is something that is considered a cosmetic procedure, than you may want to think twice about it, because most insurance companies won't pay for it. However, if it is a defect, as you put it, or genetic problem that needs to be medically fixed for your well being, than you may want to seriously consider it. Remeber that all surgery is a risk, so carefully weigh your options.
- it depends on how bad u need to have it
- The only suggestion I have is that if one is having plastic surgery then to consult with your doctor or someone you trust to get the name of a good surgeon with a good reputation .I would not just go to anyone that was in the phone book or had a advertisement somewhere. Usually your regular md knows of some good plastic surgeons. I have never had any done yet but I am thinking of my future and would like to someday.
