- Most charge something for the initial consultation... somewhere between $60 to $200 for the initial consultation is typical. There may be some who give a free initial consultation, but I'd be leery of them... Good luck!
- a lot of dr's will do a free consult, or insurance may cover it. then just go back when you get $$. that's what i plan on doing. if it's medically necessary, like skin removal after gastric bypass, insurance may cover it or most of it. if it's considered cosmetic, like a boob job, insurance may not cover it. you can also try this website to get financing. http://doctorssayyes.net/locations.php
- I recommend you call one and ask how much they charge for the first consultation. Sometimes if you tell them you don't have insurance they'll give you a discount. Look up "surgeons" in the Yellow Pages. Good luck! :)
- Plastic Surgery is not a necessary surgical procedure unless it is due to a debilitating accident. No insurance covers surgeries like "boob jobs" or "tummy tucks". There are certain insurances that will cover "nose jobs" if the nasal passage is causing some serious nasal issue or discomfort. Plastic Surgeries can be anywhere from $600-$35,000 depending on the complexity and risk involved.
