how is asian double eyelid surgery considered as "betryaing" their race?

How is getting the asian double eyelid surgery considered as betraying their race when fifty percent of asians (koreans/japanese/chinese) have these feautures? I'm talking about the case when asians get surgical low double eyelid creases (the creases only existant on asian eyes (cacasions might have them too, i 've never seen them with it though, they have a lot bigger double lid creases)

White people assume nonwhites do so to look like them. It's similar to the skin bleach craze. Most skin bleach will not make your skin light or even close to pale yet tons of liberals are out whining about it.
i suppose people assume that all asians have the same type of eyes (far from true, i know asians on my campus who naturally have "double eyelids"). It's somehow seen as asians trying to have more "white" features (which i don't quite understand, since there are people of ALL ethnicities who have "double eyelids").
because the POINT of the double eyelid surgery is to enhance the asian eye to be more western looking.. i mean honestly, if those asians who get the surgery were happy with there eyes in the first place there would be no need to get the eyelid surgery.. in case you havent realised the eyelid surgery is asthetic surgery.. which means its for asthetic purposes only NOT because they cant see or anything like that... THINK about it REAL hard... Now why they call it "wanting to look white" i have no idea... i guess because in western countries ANYONE non white is the minority.. so in that case the minority would feel more "accepted" into the white community... wow i just answered my own question..

NO, NO, NO. I am sure at least 50% of Asian has double eyelid features. For people with this features, their eyes may look bigger, prettier or sweeter for some extent. If an Asian who doesn't have this feature and wants to create one through surgery, just because she wants her eyes look bigger and prettier, and it absolutely has nothing to do with an idea of wanting to have a pair of cauasian eyes. An Asian can hardly have a pair of Cauasian eyes even through surgery. It is not just to have a wider double lib creases to make a pair of eyes look Cauasian's, but has a lot to do with the bone structure that only Cauasians have . It is very common nowaday for Asian to receive eyelid surgery and it is absolutely not considered as betraying their races. Not at all.
only people who aren't asians say that. is it betrayal for blacks to get weaves or get their hair straightened? if they were happy with that, they would leave their hair as it was naturally.
Actually, I have MANY friends from East Asia and over 70% of them have natural double eyelids. Well, I dont know, I guess some people would consider it betrayal, and some wouldn't. Take Micael Jackson (ewww) for example.....he COMPLETELY changed his ethnical features...and I guess nobody really considered it betrayal, but some did take great offense to it. It would be just like you getting surgery to have a single eyelid. Have a nice day. God Bless!
